Haiti has undergone years of violent political struggles, environmental mismanagement and external economic shocks which have left it the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Around 70 per cent of the workforce is unemployed, with over half of the country's 8.7 million people living in abject poverty.

Why doesn't France have some responsibility with Haitians since they brought them as slaves to the island. How inhuman. France should pay for this!
