Closing the digital divide for Zambia's farmers

Powered by 67 solar panels, the Chinyunya telecentre offers internet, phone and photocopying services to farmers living east of Zambia's capital Lusaka, without needing any connection to the national grid. ICT-promoter, SATNET, has trained staff in 30 such centres, and is devising policies to further expand Zambia's solar-powered ICT network.
