Individually, small scale livestock producers may appear insignificant but if supported through evidence-based scientific knowledge and coordinated they can unleash their potential as global giants.

In Nigeria, 70% of the livestock population are in the hands of the smallholder pastoralist who are unawere of the new innovations and technologies that could transform the sector. A holistic research and extension approach is necessary.
