Whilst the media focused primarily on the impact of Superstorm Sandy in the US, it is Caribbean households, particularly in impoverished Haiti, that have suffered the greatest impact and will take the longest to recover. In this edition, we review adaptation to climate change, effectiveness of cooperatives and linking to markets in bringing about improved food security and income, especially for smallholder farmers.
