Value chains - built to last?

Value chains in Kenya and Uganda for improved smallholder production of mangoes and passion fruit have been strengthened by Project Nurture, which aims to bring more than 50,000 smallholders (at least 30 per cent women) into the fruit value chain by 2014.

Inspiring analysis and good identification of limiting factors. How were tree plantings financed? Small holders often cannot afford to maintain groves for 4 or 5 years with no return until first fruit harvest.
