The food miles debate

With rising concerns over climate change, there are questions being raised in the North about the impact of importing foodstuffs by long distance air freight. For the smallholder farmers in developing countries who have worked hard to meet export standards, the danger of losing those markets is deeply worrying. Points of View presents the response of Kenyan farmers, exporters and horticultural advisors to some key issues in the food miles debate.
