Agriculture is the mainstay of the Tanzanian economy, employing 75% of the workforce, and contributing up to 80% of export earnings. the country is nearly self-sufficient in food production. Despite this rural poverty is entrenched, and pressure on land from crops and livestock pose a serious environmental threat of desertification.

Tanzania gained independence in 1961; in 1967 was Arusha Declaration was declared as well as Nationalization policy implementation.

Tanzania is rich in minerals than Kenya and Uganda combined. It has the best world tourist sites not to mentioned world ''wonders' of the Serengeti,but despite of all these income generating resources,the rural poverty line is beyond compression..??
