Sorry but the comment about rice being commonly grown in hilly areas is very inaccurate. Most rice is grown, by irrigation, in lowland areas though in remoter areas,especially in Sabah and Sarawak, shifting cultivation survives, mostly in hilly areas but occasionally on flat land as well.
