Pineapple waste not, want not
The potential in pineapple peel
Pineapples are, in yield per hectare, the most productive crop in the world. But from each fruit grown in the pineapple belt in southern Ghana for processing for export, less than half is consumed as fruit or juice. The remainder is waste which is now recycled centrally, and returned to farms.
