Success that is cut and dried

Farmers like Ruan Smit have a permit from South Africa's national conservation organisation to sustainably harvest wild flowers and foliage. He makes daily deliveries to the Flower Valley Conservation Trust packhouse with a variety of flora cut on three farms on the Agulhas peninsula, the southernmost tip of Africa. Flowers - for the fresh and dried market - are now the main source of farm income.
