High quality harvest

CIAT's Edgar Burbano checks a cob of recently harvested Quality Protein Maize. AgroSalud uses traditional plant breeding methods to increase the nutritional quality of staple crops, as well as enhance desirable agronomic traits, such as high yields and disease resistance. Crucially, this open-pollinated maize variety developed by the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), allows farmers to save the seed for planting the following season.
