AgroSalud and its partners expect to release more than 20 nutritionally improved crop varieties in Latin America over the next two years. As other countries follow the lead of Cuba, Nicaragua and Panama in integrating biofortification into national nutrition policies, these crops will provide a sustainable, eco-efficient means of addressing food insecurity and malnutrition in the region.
