Bringing in the grain

With its quick maturity, farmers can get three harvests in a year, and expect to reap up to one ton of grain per acre. Threshing is done immediately after harvest, with the grain collected on a clean tarpaulin. For Sammy Tiego, grain amaranth is now earning him more than maize.
