Survival of the toughest

Stacks of harvested beans on the rugged La Isla Del Sol (Island of the Sun), one of the largest islands in Lake Titicaca, Bolivia. At around 4,000m above sea level, the days of intense sunshine combined with bitterly cold nights means only the toughest crops, animals - and farmers - can survive here.
