Food for thought

Agricultural plots for growing food in school playgrounds have been encouraged as part of the Food for Thought programme. Although not specifically designed to assist those in the north of Uganda, the programme has highlighted the role of agriculture and vocational activities in rehabilitation process. Many of the children are easily distracted and physical activities such as agriculture can offer a less rigid and more therapeutic form of reintegration to formal education.
