Unsettling times for India's buffalo nomads
Appa, in her early twenties, moved to a village when she was married into a Van Gujjar family who had been displaced from Rajaji National Park. "Living in a village is like being in prison," she says. Trying for divorce, she is back with her own family and happy to be heading into the mountains.
