Fibre of the gods - alpaca keeping in Peru
A sign alerts drivers to grazing alpacas on the roadside between Puno and the remote town of Macusani, in the Peruvian Altiplano. The region is one of the poorest in the world and alpacas - prized for their high-quality fleeces - provide an essential source of income.
