The need for seed

A farmer shows off quality seed collected at the Urdo Khan research station. Cereal production in Afghanistan has more than doubled since the fall of the Taleban in 2001. But the country still faces a shortfall - recent harsh winters have killed crops and livestock leaving many in the grip of food insecurity.
