Uniquely adapted

A herder takes his animals on a ten-hour trek for water, before a ten-hour return journey to their grazing area. Maasai cattle are uniquely adapted to the savannah, dropping their metabolic rate by as much as 50 per cent to withstand long walks, days without water and prolonged shortage of feed.
