A hunger-breaking crop?
Maize is becoming a major staple food in Ethiopia as the price of teff (the traditional indigenous cereal) is rising. Strafford Twumasi-Afriyie believes that maize is a "hunger-breaking crop" for the highlands because it is simpler to grow and more productive than teff.
